Runaway dog escapes from carrier at Sea-Tac, found but injured
The missing dog at Sea-Tac airport has been found and recovering at a nearby veterinarian’s office, according to Alaska Airlines.
The terrier freed itself from it’s carrier around 10am Sunday concerning a handful of airport employees who saw it running on the tarmac and tried unsuccessfully to catch it.
The dog, described as a Boston Terrier, was able to slip through the fence at the north end of the airport and a motorist picked up the injured terrier. Airport controllers saw today’s dog from the tower make it’s way to International Blvd and air traffic was not affected.
Sea-Tac airport’s spokesman Perry Cooper says this happens from time to time but the pets, in most cases, are quickly recovered.
Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Allison Russell tells KIRO-7 that the vet is in contact with the dog’s owner, who is now in Sacramento about treating options and adds that Alaska Airlines is doing an internal investigation into how the dog got free.
