Repeal the law
There’s no accurate definition of a pit-bull. The term refers to a genetically diverse group of breeds. If tested, it’s possible that some other breeds such as the Bulldog, Boston terrier, Mastiff and even various small terriers like the Parson Russell might be detected.
Because there’s no correct definition of pit-bull, Miami-Dade’s law is meaningless. We shouldn’t be asked if we want to keep a law that has no value. Commissioners should simply repeal it.
